It's now common knowledge that one of the best tools to tackle the climate crisis and keep our temperatures from rising above 1.5C is to plant trees. They are also crucial to preventing ecological collapse.

Climate Positive Workforce.

New mission ahead. Pace are pumped to say we are working with Ecologi to help create our very own forest in Madagascar, where we will be planting 1 tree for every order placed on our website in partnership with Eden Projects. Through this partnership we will be offsetting our Pace teams carbon footprint.

It's not just abroad where the health of our planet is an issue. The UK's woodland is home to a wealth of wildlife, from shade-loving plants and delicate fungi, to nesting birds, elusive mammals and rare insects. Ancient woodland in particular supports more species than any other land-based habitat in the UK.
But woodland cover in the UK is one of the lowest in Europe, and as a country we need to do more to increase it to help meet the needs of our wildlife. If we don't protect what we have left and work to create woodlands of the future, we stand to loose more than just trees.

We have also therefore committed to planting a minimum of 1 tree per month in a new reforestation project, helping plant a deciduous forest in the Scottish Highlands, and we will grow this frequency in line with our business growth.

This months projects we are:

Protecting and restoring forest in Papua New Guinea.
Geothermal power production in West Java, Indonesia.

Reforesting in Changalane, Mozambique
Mangrove planting in Madagascar
Planting responsibly in Bosawas, Nicaragua

What is a Climate Positive Workforce?
It's  where every person in our organisation has their entire life’s carbon footprint offset because they work within our organisation.

The carbon footprint includes our employee’s time at work, business travel, and their time outside of work.

So far we have planted 100 trees and have offset 2 tonnes of CO2e! This is just the beginning. You can check out our forest by clicking here. Pretty cool eh?
