The new RC429 is a North Yorkshire-bred The new RC429 is a North Yorkshire-bred down country steel hardtail. It's the rowdy sibling to our RC529 harcore hardtail. Designed to redefine what's possible within the short travel hardtail genre.
Hitting a sweet spot for general trail riding or bike-packing this is the ultimate do-it-all bike you've been looking for, it's roots are hardtail and your life-long partner for travelling far and wide.
The sport of offroad riding continually progressess and our bikes evolve accordingly. Whether or not you want to take the easy way or the hard way the RC429 is designed to meet these modern demands. Although you could put frame, handlebar and saddle bags on any kind of bike, the RC429 is purpose built and we've incorporated design elements that make that whole bikepacking experience much better.
Aswell as allowing you to reignite your spirit for adventure the RC429 is also designed to fuel a fast-paced XC power hour, ride through any landscape of your choice or tuck in on the drop bars on a gravel fireroad, this is a bike that's ready to rise to any occasion and get you away from it all.

SLACK, PROGRESSIVE GEOMETRY
If want to ride a short travel bike shouldn’t mean you have to compromise the ride with old skool XC geometry- we blend short travel with progressive slack geometry for confidence in the steeps and at speed
100MM - 130MM TRAVEL
When your out for an adventure just the right amount of travel keeps the bike taught for the journey and fun when you’ve pitched the tent and want an evening ride on some mountain gnarl
FLAT BAR & DROP BAR COMPATIBLE
Our progressive geometry blend gives you room for manoeuvre in flat bar mode but with slightly longer stem and dropbars gives you the same cockpit as a gravel bike
SUSPENSION FORK & RIGID FORK
Spec your RC429 with 130 travel and you can harry your mates on their heavy enduro rigs- or spec it with our rigid adventure fork with MTB geo and clearances for an ultra light and reactive ride
29" BOOSTED WHEELS
Giving you a stronger and more rigid wheelset and we've given the RC429 better tyre clearances- which is just what you need whether you’re bikepacking or trail hacking
REYNOLDS 853 STEEL
Quite simply the best- we've combined Reynolds 853 with Pace chromoly steel for strength, durability and that subtle flex all in one elegant tubeset…alloy and carbon eat your heart out

REDEFINING SHORT TRAVEL TRAIL

When the gravel runs out and the tech begins the RC429 comes into its own…not a gravel bike but a specialist off-road/travel/bikepacking tool that’s as happy cranking in the miles as it is flicking through the singletrack.
Through careful design the cockpit on this dropbar rig mimics that of a modern gravel bike but underneath you the geometry stretches and slackens making it far more capable and confidence inspiring.
With its GRX transmission paired to custom made Hope wheels and crank the 429 ups the speed and stability whether in carbon rigid or short travel MTB suspension spec’.

The geometry and design of the RC429 allows you to do just that in a short travel design envelope. We wanted an XC feel, but we didn't want to step back in time to old school geometry just for that XC feel…XC has changed and we wanted to reap the benefits of a modern progressive geometry.
