Design notes
Cycling has progressed and so have our bikes. Whether or not you want to take the easy way or the hard route it's designed to meet modern demands on a simple machine. Although you could put a frame, handlebar and saddle bags on any kind of bike, the RC429 is purpose built and we've incorporated design elements that make that whole bikepacking experience much better.
Frame building process:
The new RC429 is designed, tested and assembled in North Yorkshire by Adrian the MD of Pace since the start - 1987.
We're pleased to say the RC429 is handmade and in production with our specially selected factory in Europe.
The factory have been making high-end frames for over 30 years and we actually worked with them back in the 90's; They had a pro mountain bike team which Pace sponsored with suspension forks. One of their riders raced the XC World Cup.
You may not know but Pace frames used to be made in North Yorkshire, England. Because of this we can really appreciate and understand the frame building process and what it takes to make high end frames.
It's a really interesting operation and it's a skill which takes years to learn. Some people have it in the hands and others don't, and that's why we have partnered up with this factory as their experience is unparalleled to match with our Pace ride quality and design.
We're excited about this partnership and it's great to work together again after 30 years.
